　超音波診断装置Bronson-Turner型OphthalmicContactB-scan,Echo-Ophthal—mograph 7200 MA,Ocuscan400を用いて網膜芽細胞腫36例とその他の白色瞳孔12例を比較検討し，その中で診断に苦しんだ2症例について報告した。

　超音波像により，網膜芽細胞腫の診断は多くの症例で可能であるが，硝子体中に腫瘍が増殖したり，壊死をきたす症例では，診断に苦しむことがあり，超音波像のみに頼ると誤診する可能性があることを警告した。

We evaluated the value of ultrasonography in the diagnosis of retinoblastoma through retro-spective analysis of 55 cases with leukokoria during the last 5 years and a half. We used Contact B-scan (Bronson-Turner),Echo-ophthalmograph 7200 MA (Ossoinig) and Ocuscan 400 (Coleman). The cases included 41 eyes (36 cases) of retinoblastoma, 5 eyes with Coats' disease and 9 eyes with miscel-laneous conditions.

Attenuation of echo posterior to the tumor mass was a characteristic feature for retinoblastoma and was observed in 35 out of 41 eyes with retinoblas-toma.
