  • Look Inside

A 2-year-old, otherwise healthy and normal girl manifested aplasia of the optic nerve in one eye and clinical anophthalmos in the fellow eye. In the affected left eye, the anterior segment was normal except for slight microcornea. The lens was clear and in normal position. The left pupil did not react to light.

Funduscopy revealed the complete absence of the optic disc and retinal vessels. Multiple cho-roidal colobomas varying in size from 2 to 5 disc ciameters were scattered in the midperiphry.Fluorescein angiography assured the absence of optic disc and retinal vascula ture. Large choroidal vessels were sparsely present.
