中枢神経系異常を合併した小児の両側性視神経萎縮について

Bilateral optic nerve atrophy in children with central nervous system disorders

　検眼鏡的に両視神経萎縮の他に眼疾患を認めず，ERGが正常で中枢神経系の異常を合併している小児14例について，殊にVEPと視反応との関係について検討した。VEPにて良好な反応が得られたものは1眼もなかった。VEP反応，視反応ともに認められないもの10眼。VEPにて悪いながらも再現性のある反応がみられ，視反応もみられたもの12眼であった。平均9.4ヵ月の経過観察期間中，両反応に改善をみたものは1例もなかった。

　以上の症例につき視覚路の障害部位および程度とVEP反応，視反応との関係につき考察を加えた。

We evaluated 14 children who manifested bila-teral optic nerve atrophy associated with central nervous system disorders. All the subjects showed normal ERG responses, while their visual and VEP responses were variable.

We classified out 14 cases into 3 groups on visual and VEP responses. Group A contained 10 eyes with negative visual and VEP responses. We sus-pected the optic nerve or the visual cortex to be totally impaired in this group. Group B contained 12 eyes with some visual and subnormal VEP res-ponses.
