眼科領域に於けるβ線療法について—（その4）色素性乾皮症に併発せる角膜癌腫について（附，Au198腫瘍内照射法の応用）

緒言

　眼科領域のβ線療法の対照となる疾患は，悪性腫瘍よりも寧ろ前報迄において述べた如き，翼状片，角膜潰瘍，春季カタル，角膜血管新生等の非悪性疾患が多い。これは一つには，β線療法の対照となる前眼部の悪性腫瘍の発生頻度が低いことにもよるのであろう。今回，著者は偶々色素性乾皮症に併発せる角膜癌腫の1例に遭遇し，これにβ線療法，Au¹⁹⁸によるラヂオコロイド療法を試みる機会を得たので茲に報告する次第である。

The author used β-ray irradiation for the therapy of corneal cancer which was accompa-nied by xeroderma pigmentosum.

But in this case, in which the tumor tissue was thick and extensive, the therapeutic effects of β-ray irradiation of Sr⁹⁰ were not sufficient, because the permeability of β-ray is very little, so the effects are restricted to the surface. Interstitial implantation of Au¹⁹⁸ may be effective in such cases as this, and also a scintigram described at the same time, shows the extent of the tumor tissue and metastasis in regional lymphnodes.

This findings are also significant and useful for diagnosis.
