緒言
家兎眼にMID以上の大量のβ線照射を行つた場合に,前眼部殊に角膜・虹彩・結膜に照射線量に応じて種々の程度の障害の発生することに就ては,既に眼臨52巻,6号誌上に於て発表した。眼科領域に於ても今後β線療法が普及するに伴なつて,障害の発生する危険も増大してくるものと考えられる。現在は未だかゝる障害面に関する関心は甚だ薄く,障害の予防及び治療に就ての報告は殆んど行われていない。そこで今回は,Sr90β線照射による前眼部障害に対する副腎皮質ホルモンの効果に就て検討を試みることとした。
The effect of local administration of steroid hormone for ocular damage due to Sr-90 beta irradiation was studied.
1) The development of corneal damage could not be prevented by steroid hormone admi-nistered immediately after beta irradiation.
2) The use of steroid hormone decreased the degree of damage on the cornea and iris, and shortened the course. Severe changes such as ulceration or perforation which were observed in the non-treated eye did not develop in the steroid hormone treated eye.
3) No significant difference was found between the effectiveness of cortisone, hydrocor-tisone and prednisolone.
