バセドウ病における眼圧とステロイド感受性

Interocular Pressure Response to Corticosteroid in Dysthyroid Ophthalmopathy

緒言

　バセドウ眼における異常な高眼圧は，一般に緑内障状態によるものではなく，単なる高眼圧であるとみなされている^1,2）。それでも，欧米では，緑内障の発生頻度が高いという説も多い^3）。著者らは過去10年1000例を越すバセドウ病の症例を管理下においているが，今回，これらの症例の眼圧を検索すると共にステロイドにより誘発された高眼圧例，ならびにステロイド緑内障の出現から，ステロイド感受性に注目し，調査した結果，興味ある成績をえたので報告する。

The intraocular pressure (IOP) of 960 cases of dysthyroid ophthalmopathy showed a distri-bution (mean 16.3±2.8mmHg), which was not much different from that of normal eyes. No statistical difference was also observed in IOP and ocular rigidity between the types (type Ⅰ and Ⅱ) of ophthalmopathy. Ocular hypertension was found in 7% of the eyes axamined but glaucoma was in less than 1%.
