未熟児網膜症の臨床的研究

Clinical Studies on Retinopathy of Prematurity

緒言

　わが国の全出生数は，1971年度の統計で2,000，973人である。その内，届け出された2,500g以下の低体重児（以下，未熟児とす）数は，125,927人である。未熟児死亡率の約18％^9）25）を引くと，推定約102,000人の未熟児の眼底検査をしなければならず，眼科医にとつて非常な負担である。眼科管理を能率的に行なうために，網膜症の発生および進行の恐れのある非常に危険の高いグループを予測できれば，診療上非常に有益である。著者らは，未熟児の発育状態および治療を検討し，本症の発生と進行にいかなる因子が関与しているか手がかりをえる目的で統計的解析を行なつた。

The incidence of retinopathy in 308 newborn infants with low birth weight, who were obser-ved in Matsudo City Hospital from January, 1970 through December, 1971, was 15.8% (49/ 308). 15 cases in 49 infants with retinopathy had been treated by Xenon photocoagulation for 4 years.

The statistical analysis of the occurrence and the aggravating factors in retinopathy of the premature infants were carried out in detail with 200 cases, excluding 32 dead infants, du-ring 2 years from 1972 to 1973.
