  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

The possible hypertension-inducing effect was studied in 6 proved steroid responders by ins-tillation of 1% hydroxymethylprogesterone (Me-drysone) and 0.1% fluorometholone ophthalmic solutions. The findings were compared with the effects of 0.1% betamethasone administration. All the 6 tested subjects had extraocular allergic or inflammatory lesions so that the therapeutic effects of the tested steroids were also evaluat-ed.

Instillation of 1% Medrysone, q. i. d., failed to show ocular hypertensive effects in all of the 6 studied cases.
