Therapeutic Attempts in Behçet's disease:(Report 4)--Steroid Hormones

緒言

　未知の原因で発症し遷延化していくBehçet病に，ステロイドホルモンが有効に働くという事は臨床的によく経験する事実である。しかしこのホルモンが一般化するにつれて，新しい問題をみている。Behçet病とステロイドホルモンの問題については，氏原^1），徳田^2）が報告を行なつているが，我々は従来報告しているBehçet病治療法の検討^3）〜5）の一つとして，ステロイドホルモンを取上げて，2,3の問題に検討を加えたので，その結果を報告し諸家の御批判を受けたい。

Behçet's disease is occurring in an alarming frequency in Japan. In Hokkaido District located in the northern part of Japan, the incidence is about 600 out of 5 million population. The prognosis as to vision is decidedly poorer than other systemic disorders. Various methods of treatment have been vocated including non-ste roid anti-inflammatory preparations, antibiotics, topical and systemic steroid agents, x-ray radi-ation to the spleen and immunosuppressive dr-ugs (Imuran).
