外傷性硝子体膿瘍に対する手術

Operation for Traumatic Vitreous Abscess

I．はじめに

　従来，硝子体感染症は血行性，外傷性および手術後感染により発症し，ほとんど失明を余儀なくされた疾患である。しかしながら他の化膿性疾患とともに，化学療法剤の進歩により，現在その発症数は激減した。

　われわれは最近，外傷性硝子体感染症の1例に遭遇し，化学療法および手術的療法により，良好な結果を得たので報告する。

A description is presented of a case with corneal rupture, iris prolapse, cataract and vitreous abscess incurred by penetrating foreign body. The trauma was caused by a flying tip of rusted steel wire while engaged in gardening. While closure of the corneal wound and resection of the prolapsed iris was performed on the day of the injury followed by topical and systemic antibiotics therapy, hypopyon developed on the sixth day necessitating irrigation of the anterior chamber with Colimycin solution. The outcome of the culture of aspirated aqueous was negative.
