α-キモトリプシンと白内障手術88例の臨床成績

ALPHA-CHYMOTRYPSIN IN CATARACT SURGERY

　蛋白溶解酵素として知られるα-キモトリプシンがチン氏帯の緊張力を弱化し白内障手術中の隅発症を低減せしめる効果に関しては広く注目がはらわれ，既に数多くの報告が発表され，世界各地から興味ある結果が示めされて居る。

　我々もまた去る1959年6月から10月に且る期間，タイ国シリラート医大病院眼科においてキモトリプシン5000新鮮液を5才から80才のタイ人総数88名眼数103眼に応用してみた。本症例中に含まれる白内障の型は先天性，老人性，続発性（外傷性，葡萄膜炎後等）である。

Alpha-chymotrypsin, a proteolytic enzyme, has received widespread attention in its wea-kening effect on the tensile strength of the zonular fibers and minimizing potential com-plications in cataract surgery. There have been numerous reports in literature, revealing interesting data from different parts of the world.

Between June and October 1959, we, at the Ophthalmological Department, Siriraj Hospi-tal, Thailand, had tried 1:5000 freshly pre-pared solution of Alpha-chymotrypsin*on 103 eyes of 88 Thai patients varying in age from 5 to 80 years.
