健眼に於ける左右眼圧の相違に就て

Difference of Ocular Tension between Both Eyes in Normal Man.

緒言

　健眼に於ける眼圧は人眼でも動物眼でも一般には左右の価は略等しい。ところが多数のうちには左右に可成りの相違を見出すことがある。然らば健眼に於ける左右眼眼圧はどの程度にあるのか，どの程度以上に相違があれば何れかを病的と見做し得るかどうか，これ等の問題に就いてはDo-wney （1945）以外は余り研究されていないようである。そこで私共は之等の問題を検討したので之について発表する。

The difference of ocular tension between both eyes was studied in 319 normal individuals. All measurements were taken by the same trained hand and with the same instrument, Schiφtz's tonometer

In about 25 per cent of the cases, an observable difference was recognized by Schiφtz's tonometer. In 5 per cent of the cases, the difference was in the range of 4.0-7.9mmHg. There was observed in none of the cases a difference over 8.0minHg.
