Abstract. Purpose:To report subarachnoid hemorrhage followed by Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada(VKH)disease in a case aged 81 years. Case:An 81-year-old woman presented with blurring of both eyes since 5 days before. Corrected visual acuity was 0.5 right and 0.4. Both eyes showed edematous swelling of optic disc. Computed tomography showed subarachnoid hemorrhage. Visual acuity decreased to 0.2 in either eye 19 days later. Both eyes showed choroidal detachment and signs of anterior uveitis. Pleocytosis was present in the cerebrospinal fluid. She started receiving pulsed corticosteroid for presumed VKH disease. Visual acuity improved to 0.6 each 4 months later. There has been no recurrence for one year until present. Conclusion:This case illustrates that subarachnoid hemorrhage may develop simultaneous to VKH disease with disc edema.
