Abstract. Purpose:To report the microcirculation in the human retina before and after intravitreal injection of anti-VEGF drugs measured by laser speckle flowgraphy. Subjects and Methods:This study was made on 8 eyes comprising 7 males and one female. The age averaged 69 years. Branch retinal vein occlusion was present in 3 eyes,age-related macular degeneration in 3 eyes, and central serous chorioretinopathy in 2 eyes. Five eyes were treated by intravitreal bevacizumab 1.25 mg and 3 eyes by ranibizumab 0.5 mg. Blood flow in artery, vein and the tissue in unaffected retinal area was measured before, one week and one month after treatment by laser speckle flowgraphy. Results:There was no significant difference in blood flow before and after treatment. Conclusion:Blood flow in normal retina may not be influenced by intravitreal injection of anti-VEGF drugs.
