要約 目的:経口投与によるアスタキサンチンが房水の過酸化物に及ぼす影響の報告。対象と方法:両眼に白内障がある35例を対象とした。第1眼の白内障手術の術中に一次房水を採取し,過酸化物質の総量を測定した。その直後からアスタキサンチン1日量6mgの服用を開始し,2週間後に第2眼の白内障手術を行い,再び過酸化物質の総量を測定した。結果:アスタキサンチン2週間服用後の房水内過酸化物質は有意に低下した(p<0.05)。男性群では低下が有意であり,女性群では有意差がなかった。男性の糖尿病者と女性の非糖尿病者ではアスタキサンチン服用後の房水内過酸化物質の低下は有意であり(p<0.05),男性の非糖尿病者と女性の糖尿病者では有意差がなかった。結論:アスタキサンチンの経口投与により,房水の過酸化物質が低下する可能性がある。
Abstract. Purpose:To report changes in hydroperoxides in the aqueous following peroral astaxanthin in humans. Cases and Method:This prospective study was made on 35 patients with senile cataract who were duly informed and gave written consent. During surgery in one eye,the primary aqueous was collected and was quantitated for total amount of hydroperoxides. After surgery,patients were given astaxanthin at the daily dosis of 6 mg for 2 weeks. The same procedure was repeated during surgery on the fellow eye 2 weeks later. Results:Total hydroxides in the aqueous significantly decreased 2 weeks later(p<0.05). The decrease was significant in males and not significant in females. The decrease was significant in males with diabetes and in females without. The decrease was significant in females with diabetes and males without. Conclusion:Peroral consumption of astaxanthin may result in decrease of hydroperoxides in the aqueous.
