Abstract. Purpose:To report the therapeutic outcome of idiopathic choroidal neovascularization. Cases and Method:This retrospective study was made on 7 eyes of 7 patients of idiopathic choroidal neovascularization seen during a 13-month period. The series comprised 2 males and 5 females. Their age ranged from 26 to 47 years, average 40 years. They were followed up for 8 to 23 months, average 16 months. All the cases received subtenon injection of 20mg triamcinolone acetate. After this therapy proved ineffective,6 cases received photodynamic therapy(PDT). Results:Final visual acuity improved by 2 lines or more in 4 eyes and remained unchanged in 3 eyes. Visual acuity improved to 0.8 or more in 4 eyes. Conclusion:Above therapeutic modality may be effective for idiopathic choroidal neovascularization.
