Abstract. Purpose:To report a case of neovascular glaucoma treated by trabeculectomy with adjunct use of Seprafilm®. Case:A 58-year-old male presented with neovascular glaucoma in both eyes. He had systemic hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and stenosis of right internal carotid artery. The right eye was treated by trabeculectomy with mitomycin C,reconstruction of filtering bleb with cataract extraction, and two sessions of vitreous surgery. The left eye was treated by cataract surgery and photocoagulation. Both eyes showed elevated intraocular pressure(IOP)and received trabeculectomy with adjunct use of Seprafilm®. IOP has been well maintained for 23 months in the right eye and for 12 months in the left with well-maintained filtering blebs. Conclusion:Trabeculectomy with Seprafilm® was effective for neovascular glaucoma in controlling IOP,maintenance of scleral flap, and prevention of adhesion between the scleral flap and conjunctiva.
