Abstract. We previously built a retina projection system as a low-vision aid. It incorporated a red light-emitting diode laser,by which a clear image was projected onto the retina by way of Maxwell vision. It was designed as a table-mounted system. We now built a compact system that can be head-mounted by using a white diode laser. The new system weighs 146g and measures 13 cm×3 cm×3 cm. Although the introduction of a new light source resulted in incomplete Maxwell vision,a sharper image can now be projected onto the retina through a smaller aperture with longer focus depth. The new system also allows projection of color instead of monochromatic images.
