　市川式ランタンを基本として，発光ダイオードランプによる色光を用いたJFCランタンテスト（仮称。ジャパンフォーカス社製）を開発した。色光の輝度，純度が，特に黄と緑で市川式より高いこと，全部の色光がほぼ等輝度であること，提示光の組合せを一部変えて，赤・緑・黄が平等に出現するようにしたこと，提示順序をランダムにしたこと，が市川式と異なる。検査成績を比較すると，JFCの方が市川式より誤認が少なかったが，pass・failの基準点の決定には更に検討を要する。

We designed a new lantern test incorporating light-emitting diode lamps. It is named as JFC and is a modification of Ichikawa's lantern. The present system has the following features as compared with Ichikawa's. Greens and yellows are brighter and more saturated. All the test lights are of equal luminance. Combination of the colors of test lights has been modified so that the three colors appear in equal condition. The nine sets of test lights are presented in random sequence. In anomalous tri-chromats, the errors in one trial with 9 sets of lights averaged 3.4 for JFC and 5.4 for Ichikawa's. In dichromats, it averaged 7.0 both for JFC and Ichi-kawa's. The criteria for passing and failing have not been determined as yet.
