  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

Hyperbaric oxygenation induced improvement in visual acuity in one eye of central and 2 eyes of branch retinal vein occlusion. All the 3 eyes received the treatment within 3months after onset. All the eyes had macular edema. An optical coherence tomography(OCT)was used to evaluate the macular edema before and after treatment. After treatment, the macular edema decreased in one eye. It remained unchanged in the other 2 eyes. Hyperbaric oxygenation seemed to have improved the visual acuity not only by reducing the macular edema but also by directly affecting the ishcemic retinal cells.
