Abstract. Purpose:To report the learning effect on the outcome of perimetry using Humphrey Matrix®. Cases and Method:This study was made on 30 eyes of 30 healthy volunteers. They were tested by Humphrey Matrix® on four different days. After eliminating cases with poor fixation,23 eyes of 23 cases were evaluated. All were medical students or hospital staff, consisting of 8 males and 15 females. The age ranged from 21 to 38 years, average 28 years. Results:There was no learning effect regarding pattern standard deviation or duration of examination. The mean deviation significantly improved by 1.46±0.92 dB between the first and averaged value of second to fourth examination. Conclusion:To eliminate the learning effect,it is advised to use the value obtained by second examination or later during Humphrey Matrix® perimetry.
