Regional cerebral blood flow was determined with 85Kr clearance method dated by Lassen and Ingvar in various intracranial diseases. In this study two detector unit was used and clearance curves were analyzed by two compartmental method.

The normal blood flow was 45.1 ml/100 g/min in the frontal region and 45.5 ml/100 g/min in the temporal region, respectively. There was no dif-ference of mean value in frotal and temporal region.

In ten intracranial tumors the blood flow decreasedand mean value of the rCBF was 34 ml/100 g/min. These were 29.9 ml/100 g/min in glioma group, 30 ml/100 g/min in metastatic tumor and 50 ml/100 g/ min in megingioma. Clear shunt peak of clearance curves were not observed in glioma group. The blood flow decreased in 3 atherosclerosis including one cerebral infarct, and in six chronic head injury, that is, these mean value of the rCBF were 42.2 ml/100 g/min in the former and 39.1 ml/100 g/min in the latter.

In four patients showed so-called apallic syndrome, the blood flow decreased remarkably and no recov-ery in clinical course. The its mean value was 22.4 ml/100 g/min.

We think this clearance method has considerably benefit in determination of the cerebral blood flow.
