うつ病およびうつ状態に対する2—Dimethylaminoethanolの使用経験

CLINICAL APPLICATION OF 2-DIMETHYLAMINOETHANOL (DMAE) ON DEPRESSION AND MELANCHOLIA

序言

　うつ病ならびにうつ状態の薬物療法として，種々の薬剤が試みられているが，我々はその1つとして，最近アメリカおよびカナダ等で用いられているDeanol （邦名Deapon）を，杏林製薬の好意により試用する機会を得た。

The author gave 2-Dimethylaminoethanol (DMAE) to 40 patients mainly with depre-ssion and melancholia, and obtained remarka-ble results on 24 cases (60%) out of them.

There were 6 cases considered completely to be reached at remission.

The author administered 3 to 6 tablets of DMAE (75-150mg) daily to the patients,while at the same time he applied the tablet of Placebo to keep the data of study precisely.

It was noted that the author got the con-siderable well results not expected in the treatment with Chlorpromazine, Reserpin and electroshock.

A side effect of DMAE was chiefly obse-rved on digestive disturbances as inappetence and retching, though it was quite slight.

The author intends further to investigate a massive administration of DMAE and a joint application of DMAE with other medi-cine.
