  • Look Inside

A boy of twelve years was admitted by Prof. Katsura's Surgical Clinic with tumor. He had epileptic attacks during medical treatment of pleuritis at a hospital three years ago. Epileptic seizures have occured with intervals of three or four months and the attacks were localized in his right extre-mities with clear consciousness. His speech was disturbed and the localized attack became frequent, then a doctor referred him to our clinic on suspicion of a brain tumor. At the admission, incomplete hemiparesis of his right arm and face with hypesthesia were found, there were no complaining of head-ache, nausea, vomitting and visual disturban-ces. Haematologic examinations were obtai-ned within normal limits except for eight per cent of eosinophilic cell and there were no parasite egg in his stool. Simple skull roen-tgenogram was taken without any pathologi-cal finding. EEG showed dominant delta wave on his left parietotemporal area. Cerebrospi-nal fluid showed no pathological finding, and pneumoventriculogram showed right deviation of the left lateral ventricle.
