  • Look Inside

Radioactive Iodine was utilized in 4 patients with the diagnosis and localisation of brain temors. An oral administration of a trace dose of I131 of about 300~500μc to the patient who has been logolized to block the thyroid, is made, Two tumors correctly diagnosed, a cave of hypophyseal tumor does not show "differential uptake". Best results can be obtained 2~6 hours after the oral adminis ration of I131.

We believt that the radioactive Iodine tracer test is a imple, safe, painless method for the localisation of brain tumors.

Radioactive phosphoras, administered intravenously, was used in order to localize and demarcate brain tumors. Deta adequate for localisation was obtained in 2 ca es. An "activity ratio" was found to vary from 3.0 to 4.7. This ratio appeared to be sati factory for purposes of locaisation of tumors.
