・エトドラクによると考えたdrug-induced hypersensitivity syndrome（DIHS）の1例を経験した．

・ステロイドの全身投与でDIHSは略治したが，発症7カ月後に心筋梗塞により死亡した．

A fatal case of drug-induced hypersensitivity syndrome with myocardial infarction

A 76-year-old woman with toe fracture developed generalized er ythema after taking etodolac for 4 days. Pathological examination showed spongiosis of epidermis, apoptosis of keratinocytes, exocytosis of lymphocytes, vacuolar degeneration of dermo-epidermal junction, and lymphocytes and eosinophils infiltration into the dermis. Laboratory examination showed eosinophilia, liver dysfunction and reactivation of human herpesvirus (HHV)-6. After she stopped taking etodolac and prednisolone administration, erythema was almost healed. However, she died of myocardial infarction seven months after the onset.
