肺癌の罹患数および死亡者数は年々増加傾向にあり，2022年のがん統計による罹患数の順位は第2位，部位別死亡数の順位では第1位となっている^1）2）。

We analyzed the treatment outcomes of 13 patients who received carbon-ion radiotherapy for local recurrence following surgery for non-small cell lung cancer（NSCLC）at SAGA HIMAT. The aim was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of this treatment. The 2-year and 5-year local control rates were both 92％. The 2-year and 5-year progression-free survival（PFS）rates were 92％ and 74％, respectively, while the overall survival（OS）rates were 100％ and 73％. No Grade 3 or higher adverse events were observed. Carbon-ion radiotherapy demonstrated favorable long-term treatment outcomes with minimal adverse events for postoperative local recurrence of NSCLC. Thus, it is considered an effective and safe salvage treatment option for this condition.
