乳房用リング型超音波画像診断装置を用いたリングエコーの現状と将来展望

Current status and future prospects of ring echo using ring type ultrasound imaging system for breast

本稿では乳房用リング型超音波画像診断装置「COCOLY^®（ココリー）」について，その現状や将来展望を紹介する。COCOLY^®は2021年4月に医療機器製造販売認証を取得し，現在国内で販売されている。約2,000個の素子を円周状に配列したリングアレイを用いた，リングエコーと呼ばれる撮像方法を実装している。リングエコーは乳癌のスクリーニングや治療効果判定などでの用途が期待されている。

In this paper it is described that the current clinical images and future prospects of the ring ultrasound diagnostic imaging system for the breast, COCOLY^®, which obtained medical device manufacturing and marketing certification in April 2021 in Japan. It implements an imaging method called ring echo, which uses a ring array of approximately 2,000 elements arranged in a circumferential pattern. Ring echo is expected to have applications in screening for breast cancer and monitoring the effectiveness of treatment. The following is a brief introduction of the imaging principle and clinical images, followed by a comparison of the imaging principle, etc. with ultrasonography and ultrasonic CT, which are also imaging methods using ultrasound.
