高度に発達した現代の医療は，「医療の目」としての正確な画像診断のうえに成り立っていると言ってよい。これら近代画像診断発達の嚆矢となったのが，1973年のHounsfieldによるCTの開発であった^1）。筆者は幸いにも最初期からCT開発の最前線に在り，当事者として様々な発展を経験することができた。本稿はその備忘録である。

The developmental process of the first Japanese domestic computed tomography（CT）were presented. There were numbers of technical difficulties, however, they were irreplaceable opportunityies for us to unde-rstand the fundamentals of CT engineering. Although the technological standard was so immature at that time, most of the future principles of CT, including helical scan, isotropic voxel, area detector and multi-source CT were already suggested.
