Nine cases of orbital tumor were examined by three-dimensional CT scan. All cases were then operated through the trans-frontal approach. The presurgical CT scan findings were well in accord with the findings during surgery.
The three-dimensional CT scan examinations included sagittal, coronal and axial tomographic sections. This technique facilitated detection of the lesion and its extent.
This technique is recommended as a valuable presurgical procedure when planning removal of orbital tumors through the trans-frontal approach.
