ガリウムシンチグラフィは，口腔顎顔面領域の良性腫瘍や炎症性疾患と悪性腫瘍との鑑別診断に有効な検査である^1）。頭頸部扁平上皮癌においては，特に腫瘍再発や遠隔転移の評価に有用である^2）3）。扁平上皮癌以外にも悪性リンパ腫，サルコイドーシスやほかの炎症性疾患におけるガリウムシンチグラフィの有用性の報告もみられる^4-7）。しかしながら，顎骨の悪性腫瘍と炎症性疾患の鑑別診断においては，ガリウムシンチグラフィ，CT，MRIなどのマルチモダリティによる総合的な画像診断の報告はあまりみられない^8-11）。

Gallium-67（⁶⁷Ga）scintigraphy is useful for the estimation of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, especially for tumor recurrence and distant metastases. Excluding squamous cell carcinoma, some authors have reported that ⁶⁷Ga scintigraphy is useful for the differentiation of malignant lymphoma, sarcoidosis and other inflammatory diseases. In the present review, we demonstrated the essential points for interpreting ⁶⁷Ga scintigraphy with CT and MRI findings of malignant tumors and inflammatory lesions of the jaws. This technique may be helpful in differentiating between malignant tumors and inflammatory lesions of the jaws.
