サイトカイン除去療法のエビデンスに関して，こうすれば有効，ああすれば無効，などとたくさんの話が持ち上がっている。よく話として持ち上がるのは「理論上の有効性」「研究デザインの不適切さ」「対象コホートの問題」などであろうか。

　Conの立場として，ガイドラインで否定されている，無作為化比較試験（RCT）で否定されている，だけでは味気がない議論になる。Conの立場でありながらも，どのようにすればこの議論がProの立場の医療者にも響くのか，それぞれの立ち場の医療者が正しいエビデンスを把握し，それでもなおサイトカイン除去療法を使う・使わないを判断できるように解説していきたい。
