I．緒言

　近年喉頭ポリープ手術，喉頭癌のレーザー手術など，laryngomicrosurgery（以下ラリンゴマイクロ）の行われる機会が増えている。

　われわれはラリンゴマイクロ後に味覚障害を訴えた患者を経験したのを契機として以後同手術の前後に味覚検査を施行してきた。その結果意外にも術後に味覚低下を訴える症例が稀ではないという事実を認識させられた。このような可能性は富田ら^1）がすでに指摘しているものの，実際の症例の呈示，その原因および予後の検討はされていない。

　Two cases of taste disturbance after laryngomicrosurgery are reported. In each case, the patient complained of hypogeusia after laryngomicrosurgery for polypoid vocal cords. Postoperative electrogustometry revealed threshold increase both in the chorda tympani and glossopharyngeal nerve areas bilaterally in the first case, while only in the glossopharyngeal nerve area in the second case. Taste function returned to normal by the third postoperative month in both cases.

　Pressure exerted by a laryngoscope to the base of tongue was measured, and it was suggested that the reversible damage to the taste buds and the nerve endings is the primary cause of taste disturbance after laryngomicrosurgery.
