I．はじめに

　鼻性頭蓋内合併症は抗生物質の進歩とともに減少し，日常臨床において遭遇する機会はほとんどなくなった。しかし化学療法の発達した現在でも本症の発症は皆無でなく，しかもその病態像は従来の成書の記載と異なった様相を呈するようになってきた。筆者らは，過去5年間に3症例の鼻性頭蓋内合併症を経験したので，症例を呈示すると共に，本症の診断，治療などに若干の考察を加え，諸家の参考に供したい。

　Three cases of rhinogenic intracranial complication were reported ; a 54-year-old male with subdural abscess, a 37-year-old male with brain abscess and a 20-year-old male with meningitis. The latter two cases were successfully treated by surgery and chemotherapy, but the first case died of postoperative pneumonia. The computed tomography was valuable to diagnose the intracranial lesions complicated with nasal and paranasal diseases and to determine the time of operation. The authors emphasized that paranasal sinus infection might induce intracranial complications even at the present time when chemotherapy was markedly developed, and that infection of the paranasal sinuses was often masked by administration of antibiotics.
