I．はじめに

　埋没耳（袋耳，Cryptotie, Taschenohr, pocketear）は，耳介上部が側頭部皮下に埋まっている先天奇形で，日本人では比較的多いとされている。本症の治療法は手術的治療が主体であると考えられてきたが，非観血的治療法でもかなり良い結果が報告されるようになり，いくつかの矯正装具が考案されている。

　われわれは従来行われている方法に較べて非常に簡単な矯正方法を考案し，好結果を得たので，その方法と成績を紹介する。

The authors deviced a simple method for correc-tion of cryptotia by using a plastic mold. The material is Ear Putty^R, which is a modeling plas-tic used as an ear plug for swimmers. By stuffing the above material into the scapha, the superior portion of the auricle hurried in the scalp is pro-truded. This method has following advantages; simple technique, harmless material to the skin and painless mold. To prevent cartilagenous de-formity occurring at the growth of age, the au-thor recommended to apply this new method at earlier stage. Two cases with satisfactory results were reported.
