　I．はじめに

　ベル麻痺，ハント麻痺および外傷性顔面神経麻癖には手術的療法として顔面神経の減荷手術が行われている。

　最近筆者らは上記の末梢性顔面神経麻痺例に手術を行い，その時に顔面神経側頭骨外の耳介神経を切除し，病理組織標本を作製し，誘発筋電図検査所見および予後について検討を加えたので報告する。

In order to deduce a prognosis for facial nerve palsy, the number of survived nerve fibers at the auricular branch of the facial nerve were calculated.

It was concluded that if the number of survived nerve fibers is calculated over the half as compared with the number in control, a palsy may recover completely and a prognosis may depend, among other things, on the number of survived nerve fibers.
