　Ⅰ．緒言

　化膿性髄膜炎を繰り返すが，その感染経路が不明なため，最後に耳鼻科的検索が行なわれた症例を種々検討したところ，右耳の異常から，結局は自然に形成された卵円窓瘻孔にその原因を見い出した1例を経験したので，若干の考察を加え報告する。

　A case of recurrent meningitis with cerebrospinal fluid leakage into the middle ear is presented. Mastoid roentgenograms revealed an en-largement of the vestibule which indicated a congenital anomaly of the bony labyrinth.

　At operation a dehiscence was demonstrated in the footplate of the stapes which served as a route for abnormal cerebrospinal fluid-perilymph through the internal auditory meatus. This connection was identified by vestibular instillation of positive contrast media with myojil through the stapes footplate fistula.

　The leakage was blocked by stapedectomy and fascial plugging of the vestibule.
