　I．はじめに

　好酸球浸潤を伴つた組織球増殖症の総括的な呼称として，1953年Lichtensteinはhistiocytosis Xと呼ぶことを提唱し，いくつかの変異型を有する疾患を1つの関連した疾患群として記載して以来，各領域で多くの臨床例が報告されている。

　ところでhistiocytosis Xに属する疾患のうちでeosinophilic granulomaは決して稀な疾患ではなく，頭蓋骨，肋骨，骨盤骨などに多く発生するとされているが，側頭骨に発生したeosinophilic granulomaの報告は少ない。

　Since the earliest proposal by Lichtenstein upon eosinophilic granuloma which is considered as a localized form of histiocytosis X, of the bone, there have been numerous cases reportedin the literature. However, cases of this nature affecting the temporal bone appear to be quite rare, especially in Japan.

　The authors report a case of eosinophilic granuloma in an infant girl, aged 11 months. The patient was affected with retroauricular swelling, slight sanguinous aural discharge and slight fever. By x-ray examination bony destruction of the right temporal region was revealed. The patient was treated surgically. Final diagnosis was made from the histopathological specimen made after the operation.

　The patient is now completely recovered.
