I．はじめに
副鼻腔は，解剖学的に眼窩をとり囲むように存在している。その隔壁は菲薄な骨であるばかりでなく，先天性骨欠損，ハーバー管の存在，さらに視束管隆起などにより，副鼻腔の炎症，腫瘍，嚢腫などから容易に眼科的症状を併発する。
Onodi（1904）により，副鼻腔疾患による眼疾患の成立について発表されて以来，眼症状を伴つた副鼻腔疾患は数多く報告されている。
A review of 22 cases of paranasal cyst that caused ocular symptoms is reported with detailed description of the ages of the patients, sex, the chief complaints and the location of the cyst. In the majority of cases the ages ranged from 30 to 40. Thechief complaints were exophthalmous and disturbances of vision. In the majority of the cases the cyst was situated in the frontal sinus, 17 cases out of the 22. Others were involvement of the ethmoid, maxillary and the sphenoid sinuses.
In one case the removal of the mucocele of the sphenoid sinus was successfully performed by employment of Hardy's subnasal approach.
