Ⅰ．緒言
一側の感音性難聴がある場合には，一応聴神経腫瘍を疑つてみる必要があると一般にいわれている。しかし，かように聴神経腫瘍を漠然と疑うことは簡単であるが，早期にしかも患者に負担とならない方法で診断を確定することは容易でない。最近，本症の診断上もつとも確実な方法として後頭蓋窩の造影法1）-4）や気脳ルーレット断層撮影法5）が推奨されているが，患者に対する負担や危険性を考慮すれば，疑わしい症例のすべてにこれらの検査を行なうことはできない。
本論文では，最近経験した聴神経腫瘍例を中心に，本症を日常検査の段階で診断するには，最少限どれだけの検査をどのような順序で行なえばよいかを検討した。
In order to establish the diagnosis of acoustic tumor, to what extent and degree and to what sequences the clinical examinations should be carried out are studied with the following conclusions:
(1) The hearing tests should be performed by all means giving proper attention to rule out the presence of retrolabyrinthine deafness.
(2) The need of vestibular tests cannot be excluded, particularly the caloric tests.
(3) The facial nerve test which includes the blink test, taste test and tear test, is highly important along with the auditory nervetest.
(4) And lastly but none the less important is the x.ray examinations.
