Ⅰ．緒言
慢性副鼻腔炎の治療法には徹底的手術療法より保存的療法，その中間的立場に位する保存的手術療法いわゆるless radical operation，minor surgery，があり，より良い治療成績を目指して多くの先賢により研究され工夫・改良されてきた。
理想的な手術療法とは，手術患者への侵襲が少なく，術者がある程度未熟であつても比較的容易に実施できて，名人芸といわれるような特殊な技術を要せず，しかも治癒率のよい手術法であり，てきることならばこのような方向へ進むことが望ましい。less radical operation，minor surgeryという考えが強く支持されてくるのも当然の推移であるといえよう。
The author considered each procedure of Takahashi's intranasal plastic surgery consisting of such steps as the resection and reshaping of the inferior turbinate, opening and draining the ethmoid sinus intranasally, resection and reshaping of the middle turbinate, establishing the window communication between the maxillary sinus and the nasal cavity and a thorough resection of the nasal septum, as separate entities.
In treatment of 130 patients (70 males and 60 females) consisting of 253 sides, the procedures described above were adopted either, singly or in combinations.
In general, the results of the treatment were found to he highly satisfactory, particularly where the patients suffered preoperatively impaired nasal breathing, head pressure and headache, sneezing, continuous nasal discharge and post nasal drips. The patients were completely relieved of these symptoms.
