先天性外耳道閉鎖症は，文献上多数の症例が発表されているが，近年手術療法が改善されて，中耳伝音機構に直接手術操作が加えられるようになつて以来，かなり詳細な局所所見の発表も，さして珍しいものではなくなりつつある。
しかし，これの病理組織所見の発表は，いまだにきわめて稀であり，本邦文献においては，今日までにわずか3例をみるのみである。
A histologic examination of congenital atresia of both ears in a newborn girl was reported.
The following malformations were observed.
A. In both ears.
1. complete absence of the external auditory meatus and drum membrane.
2. absence of the stapes and malformation of malleus and incus.
3. absence of the stapedial muscle and hypoplasia of the tensor tympani muscle.
4. absence of the chorda tympani and anomalous course of the facial nerve.
5. absence of the tectorial membrane and the organ of Corti.
B. In the right car only.
absence of the round window.
C. In the left ear only.
Presence of the osseous bridge between the squama and the oval window region.
As to above findings, bibliological considerations were attempted.
