補聴器の装用耳について

　補聴器の適応決定には装用耳を決めることまで含まれている。補聴器は両耳用のものも用いられているが，現在は主に片耳にのみ用いられて聴力を増強させる方法がとられている。従つてこの場合には補聴器を何れの耳に用いた方が聴力の回復は良好であるかという問題が生じてくる。これを解決する最も簡単な方法は難聴患者に実際に補聴器を左右耳交五に使用させてその効果を比較することである。然しその効果を判定するにも基準が必要であるから，この問題に就いて次のような観察を試みた。

In making a dertermination as to which ear the nearing aid may be fitted in cases of hard of hearing the following conclusions are drawn :

In cases in whom the degree of deafness appear to differ in the two ears better re-sults are obtained when the ear whose hea-ring is better than its fellow on the opposite side is fitted with an hearing aid.

When both ears are alike in the degree of their deafness the hearing aid may be fitted to either ear which might be convenient to the patient.
