数日間持続した心因性くしやみの1例

　鼻腔に異物が入るとしばしばくしやみが出る。これは異物を除去せんとする反射といわれ，その反射経路は成書^1）によれば求心路は三叉神経であり，延髄に中枢があつて遠心路は咳嗽反射の場合とほぼ同様である。しかしくしやみはこのような鼻粘膜の刺激だけでなく，まぶしいことか精神的興奮によつても起ることは日常よく経験するがこのような場合の反射経路については殆ど知られていない^1）。耳鼻咽喉科領域ではくしやみは鼻腔の異物のほか，アレルギー性鼻炎，急性鼻炎のカタル期などの場合にしばしばみられる現象であるが，私共は最近激しいくしやみの発作が数日間続き，原因検索の結果それが全く心因性のものであつて心理療法により治癒した症例を経験した。外国ではFrank^2），Shilkret^3），Murray ＆ Bierer^4）等による類似した報告をみるが本邦では私共が調べた限りかような例の報告はなく，稀有な症例と思われるのでここに簡単に報告し御批判をあおぐ次第である。

　A case of psychogenic sneezing which lasted continuously for several days is reported; the patient was an unmarried woman, aged 20. Various laboratory examinations were negative in results, but it was revealed that the present complaint began after the love tangle in which the patient fell with a certain male employee where she worked. Treatments resulted in a temporary remission but soon the complaint returned again. Psychological treatments finally cured the patient.
