耳鼻咽喉科領域におけるMitomycin C使用経験

　I．緒言

　耳鼻咽喉科領域の癌症例4例に対して，Mitomycin C（以下MMCと略記す）を使用し，その効果を認め，特にその術前使用に対して意義を見出したので，ここにその使用経験を述べ，些かの考按を加えて報告する。

　Mitomycin C was used in treatment of respective cases of laryngeal cancer, maxillary cancer, the cancer of the tongue and recurrent tongue cancer ; the results were as follows :

　1. A definite decrease in the size of the growth was noted in all cases.

　2. When the agent was used preoperatively in laryngeal and lingual cancers it appeared to have prevented metastasis of the growth into the cervical glands.

　3. By preoperative use the white cell count appeared to be more markedly decreased than in cases the agent was not used.

　4. Leucopenia was found in all cases in whom the agent was used; blood transfusion appeared to be the best means of treatment of this condition.
