再耳根治手術例の検討

　緒言

　慢性化膿性中耳炎のため耳根治手術を受けながら耳漏が停止せず，聴力も低下して困つている患者は意外に多いものである。私は最近（1956.1〜8）かかる9症例に再手術を施行し，手術所見を検討して幾多の教訓を得た。この教訓は耳科医として深く銘記しておくべき事項と信じるので報告する。

Suyemitsu reports 9 cases of mastoidecto-mies that required re-operation because of continual ear discharge following the first operation.The number of patients suffering from such a condition appears to be larger than that may be expected and,in order to obviate this necessity the author points out following factors which should be strictly adhered to:

(1) Cell structures of the temporal bone should be thoroughly eradicated and proper care administered to the treatment of the middle ear cavity.

(2) Essential points listed in the text-book of operation should be strictly observed.

(3) No error should be committed against indication of the operation.

(4) Conservative mastoidectomie should be performed only insofar as the condition in the middle ear cavity may so permit.

(5) The care of the middle ear cavity should be thorough during the course of the operation.
