　緒言

　甲状腺組織が甲状腺の固有位置以外に存在する時，これを副甲状腺（akzessorische Schilddrüse）と呼ぶ。そしてこれが著明に増大して腫瘍状を呈する時，これを副甲状腺腫と云う。これは舌根部に発生する事が最も多く，次で舌骨附近・頸部等に発生する。舌根部副甲状腺腫は，1869年ヒックマン氏の報告を始めとして，欧米及び本邦においても少数例報告されているが，本例の如く舌骨上に一箇，舌根部に1箇，計二箇の副甲状腺腫が存在する事は極めて稀なことで臨床的に注目すべきことと考えるので，茲にその要点を報告し，併せて文献的考察を行う次第である。

SUZUKI and associates report a case of ac-cessory thyroid in which the localization of the mass to facilitate surgical removal had been effected by preoperative oral administration of radio-active iodine and thereafter following su-rgical exposure of the region the use of Gei-ger-Muller Counter. A woman, aged compla-ined of vague abnormal sensations in the pha-rynx and diagnosis of accesory thyroid was made. Operation revealed two masses of acce-ssory thyroid tissue one at the base of the tongue and the other in a close proximity to the hyoid bone.
