Streptomycin難聴の発現様式に就て

　緒言

　Streptomycinがその副作用として，屡々聴力障碍を招来する事は，衆知の事実であつて，その報告も種々の面から数多くなされて居るが，何れも主として発現した難聴の調査が主である様に考へられる。然し，Streptomycin難聴の発現を予防的見地から考慮するには，適当な対象群に対し，任意に注射されたStreptomycinに依り，如何なる様式に難聴が発現するかと云ふ事を研究する必要がある。

Moriyama and Yano maintain that the onset of deafness as a complication of streptomycin therapy may be made preventable by institut-ing periodic observations with audiograms after initiation of that therapy. They find that deafness manifested here is characterized by C⁶ dip or sudden fall of tones higher than that. Studies with audiograms were conducted among 80 patients who were under dihydro-streptomycin therapy by intramuscular injec-tions: 30 showed appreciable changes. Among this cases only 4 complained of subjective deaf-ness while the remaining 26 must be considered as deafness with latent symptoms as far as the patients were concerned.
