「ストマイ」に依る家族的聴器障害について

　"Streptomycin"（以下Stmyと略す）は今日でも尚，其の他の"Pas""INAH"等の数多くの結核治療剤中，最も卓効を奏しており，聴力障碍等の副作用があるにかかわらず，内科，小児科領域では必須の薬剤として尚広く使用されている次第である。又化膿菌に対しても，その顕著なる効果より，外科領域で一般化膿性炎症及手術後の化膿予防にしばしば用いられている現状である。勿論，之等副作用は患者自身及び一般人も注意を払う様に常識的なもめとなり，医師も最深の注意を以て使用量及び使用方法，期間等を種々考慮している様であるが，現在之等の副作用の発現を注射前に予知する事は殆んど不可能である。然しここに報告する症例の示す如く，Stmy難聴を起した患者の血族はやはり極めてStmy難聴を起し易いと云う事実は，今後医師がStmy難聴を予防する上に極めて重要の意義があると考えるのである。最近，私共はStmyに依り家族的にStmy難聴を惹起した2症例を経験し，且つその中一例は難聴の進展様式を日を迫つて詳細に観察する事に成功したので，茲に其の大略を報告し，大方諸賢の御参考に供する次第である。

Horiguchi and Moriyama report two cases of hearing disturbances due to the use of st-reptomycin occurring in members of the sa-me family. In one of these patients the on-set and progress of the affection were rather insidious in type but in the other, the turn of symptoms took an acute form. From the standpoint of preventive medicine, the auth-ors hold that, it is highly important to note that streptomycin-deafness has a tendency to be manifested as a familial affection in this way. Consequently, when streptomycin is used a thorough family history should be obtained in order to avoid later complications of loss of hearing.
