耳鼻咽喉科領域の手術中，口蓋扁桃摘出術は，アデノイド切除と共に最も多く行われるものであり，亦それだけ術後の合併症も時々見受けられ，先輩諸家によりつとに報告されてきた所であるが周到なる注意の下に行われた大人の扁桃摘出術後20時間にして起つた交感性髄膜炎の稀有な一例に遭遇したので，こゝに報告する次第である。
Konishi report a case of sympathetic mening-itis that appeared to have been caused as a complication of tonsillectomy. A woman, aged 31, suffered symptoms of asthma with physical findings of cardiac valvular lesion, tachycardia, low grade fever and mutiple arthritis. About 20 hours after tonsillectomy symptoms of men-ingitis was noted. But, within 1 week this sym-ptom subsided without further complications and the patient eventually recovered from her original troubles.
